ADs ADs and plenty more ADs

                                                                                 #2
Have you wondered how many ads there are in the world?Plenty. What different types are there or  what needs to be included in one?Make sure that when you are watching a commercial, ad, etc these are included in there.#1 ad , for example has Snob Appeal: Only "special people" use this, therefore you want  to use it.This grabs every one's attention, so that they would purchase  this product.Another technique that the second commercial has is :Emotional Appeal which means it gives us feeling. In the ad it brought all our memories from the 90s. Name-calling ;uses negative words and bad names to create fear and dislike for peoples , ideas, or institutions.Plain folks; is designed to send the message that a product or person is "just like you" All commercials must have at least Bandwagon, part of the "in crowd."Endorcement, when an expert recommends the product, Snob appeal and Emotional appeal. This would make it successful.                                                                                                                                                                     In my opinion...I enjoy the different techniques in these ads , my favorite is emotional appeal. They make the experience so much more interesting.Don't you agree?Sadly , though, not all commercials are happy and fun for example ;  This commercial is one of the most depressing one I've seen so far,  although, you have to agree that we all smiled in the end. What kind of techniques do you prefer in a commercial?I love how commercials can do things to you, not just play with your feelings but change your life. For example;the nice woman changed the blind mans sign to better words. Before she did you can see the rudeness of us greedy civilians. This makes you feel terrible , but kinder. We all need ads to keep us in check.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     TOP 10 COMMERCIALS                                                                                                                       #1.In this commercial the company is trying to sell men's deodorant. This gets people interested by using lizards.Where you interested? This would be   somewhat of snob appeal.                                                                         #2This was made to sell Katy Perry's new fragrance.Where you mesmerized?I know I was.I would  call this snob appeal(used by a celebrity.)                                                                                                                                                  #3Obviously this commercial has emotional appeal. As you can see the young boy comes and needs to work harder in order to succeed. When he does he is welcome , but needs to have THE symbol. He figures out that in order for that to happen he smashes his head on the PEPSI can.                                                                        #4This in my opinion is an example of ...emotional appeal. Its hilarious in every way possible. What do you think?A cat is TALKING.What if you were a cat who lived with this one what would you talk about besides litter/sand boxes?                                                                                                                              #5In this commercial Party City is trying to sell their products/costumes by presenting actors/actresses.This gives you an image in your mind on how you would look.Accept, because they are professionals they do make it look amazing.                      #6This ad shows the wonders of FaceTime . It is also great because not only does it get costumers interested in FaceTime, but all Iphone like products.                                                                                                Top 4 most common techniques.                                                                                                                #7

Claims

Advertising that promotes specific features or makes claims about what a product or service can do for the potential customers provides successful results by informing, educating and developing expectations in the buyer. Claims can state facts or simply use hype, such as calling one brand of orange juice "the best" when nutritionally it is identical to other brands. Claims may mislead through omission or by using what some advertisers and political campaigners call "weasel words." These are subtle statement modifiers that render the claim meaningless if studied closely. Common weasel words include "helps," "fights" and "virtually."

#8 Association

Associating a product or company with a famous person, catchy jingle, desirable state of being or powerful emotion creates a strong psychological connection in the customer. Sporting equipment companies use successful athletes in their ads, automakers display their cars in front of mansions, brewers show their beer consumed by groups of friends having fun and cosmetic companies sign celebrities to represent their products. These ads encourage an emotional response in customers, which then is linked to the product being advertised, making it attractive through transference.

#9 Bandwagon

The bandwagon technique sells a product or service by convincing the customer that others are using it and they should join the crowd. Other bandwagon advertisements suggest that the customer will be left out if they do not buy what's being sold. These ads often employ "glittering generalities," words linked to highly valued ideas or concepts that evoke instant approval, which may or may not relate to the subject of the advertisement. "America loves..." connects patriotism with a product, creating an automatic positive response.

#10 Promotions

Coupons, sweepstakes, games with prizes and gifts with purchases create excitement, and participation encourages customers to build a relationship with the sponsoring product or service. The attraction of getting something "free" or earning "rewards" makes promotions successful. Limited-time offers and entry deadlines add urgency to this advertising technique's call to action.                                                                                                                             CHALLENGE;Think of your most favorite commercial. What technique does it use, and give examples how?

The Vicious Demon Emperor

Qin  was 13 years old when he was "crowned" emperor, but don't mistake his cuteness for the animal that he was.He was despised everywhere.Qin was obsessed with becoming ruler...in the afterlife!!He would poison his servants, wives, and children. What did he do next? Bury them ALIVE.He ordered construction workers to build sculptures of every soldier to exact size and detail.     I received my information from National Geo. and Time for Kids.                                    This is Emperor Qin's TerraCotta Army                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Photo: Terra-Cotta warriors, China                                                                                 -National Geographic                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     In my opinion this guy was crazy, but I will say that I do admire how he thinks.Who else would think about becoming ruler and bringing everyone with him so that he wouldn't be lonely. The group of farmers found the army in 1974.Just imagine what they were thinking.I would of been scared to death knowing that there were thousands of clay warriors beneath me. Wouldn't you?Did you know that there were also about 650 clay horses down there as well. That is peculiar, but interesting at the same time!It is believed that the clay warriors held real weapons. The tomb was Filled with mallets, pavilions and offices, as well  as fine vessels, precious stones and rarities.Basically the tomb was filled with treasured items. What do you think of this engaging time?                                                                                                                                                                                                                       TOP 10 FACTS                                                                                                                              1.Army of 8,000 clay soldiers were found in 1974 by a few farmers.                                                             2.Sculptures are over 2,200 years ago.                                                                                                         3. Each face is unique and different.                                                                                                               4.Their height and uniform also  varies by rank.                                                                                             5. Over 700,000 workers were employed for instruction.                                                                               6.Experts suggest that Emperor's Tomb contains simulated rivers.                                                                 7.This whole "massacre" took over 36 years.                                                                                               8. Qin was actually not a popular ruler.                                                                                                         9.He had thousands of people torchered.                                                                                                    10.Today people from around the world visit the amazing tomb in China.                                                             What would you do if you lived in this time?                                                                                                   INFORMATION FROM;http://www.nationalgeographic.com/search/?search=terracotta+army    and   ,      http://www.timeforkids.com

Super Croc Unleashed

Have you ever wondered what lurked under the water 110 million years ago? What mysterious creature feasted on the fish and helpless  small dinosaurs?Who hunted its prey as he pleased?SuperCroc that's who!He ravaged the land ,searching for that one dinosaur that would "prance" into his stomach. This deadly creature weighed 8-10 tons or 17,500 lbs.He was as long as a N.Y.C. bus!!Wow, that's amazing! The first remains were discovered during several expeditions lead by the French paleontologist Albert-Félix de Lapparent, spanning from 1946 to 1959 in the Sahara Desert.I got this information from" wikapedia"
In my opinion , supercroc is amazing.Based on all the facts that I have read, being a "fierce" tyrannosaurus rex would n't of done me any good.In the text; "SuperCroc"Fossil Found In Sahara, his jaws were nearly six feet long! How long is six feet?Well just imagine one of the many humongous basketball players, they are about 6'4 and Supercrocs head is "that" large!

We had never seen anything like it. With brushes and awls we teased away the rock encasing its fossilized jaws. They were huge, each about as long as an adult human. Yet the animal that had once wielded these jaws was not a dinosaur. It was a colossal crocodilian.
We had come to hunt dinosaur bones in the Sahara's legendary fossil graveyard, a remote windswept stretch of rock and dunes called Gadoufaoua. In Tamashek, the language of the desert's Tuareg people, Gadoufaoua means "the place where camels fear to tread." For fossil hunters it means paradise—the richest dinosaur beds on the African continent. Now less than an hour into our four-month expedition we were face-to-face with an ancient croc that could have posed a serious threat to any dinosaur within reach.-information from :  http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/2008/09/supercroc/sereno-text

                1. Sarcosuchus was technically a "pholidosaur."

Its nickname aside, the SuperCroc wasn't really a crocodile at all, but rather a prehistoric crocodileancestor known as a "pholidosaur." (By contrast, the similarly gigantic Deinosuchus was in the crocodile family, though it was technically an alligator.) Confused? Don't worry, so are many paleontologists!
